“You Have Cancer”

Unfortunately, cancer has become so common that we all worry about it. Our throat hurts, we’re feeling sluggish and immediately we worry that we have cancer. It only takes looking up your symptoms one time online to know that cancer is everywhere and in everything. If you’re one of the lucky ones that never has to hear “You have cancer” from your doctor, you still probably know at least one person that has. The great thing about research and testing and early detection is that cancer doesn’t always mean a death sentence. That’s why it is so important to stay on top of the studies, the research and the testing and make sure that it continues so that we can find the cure.

I will be participating again in the Women’s 4 Miler Race to benefit the UVA Breast Care Cancer Center. We are raising $400K and need your help to do it. I am such a believer in prevention and cutting it off before it even happens. I’m also a believer in early detection which the UVA Breast Care Cancer Center does by providing FREE mammograms for men and women that can’t afford it.

It costs $100 to give someone a free mammogram and I want to raise enough money to give 10 people a FREE mammogram. That’s a total of $1000. I can’t do that without you! Any amount will help because it all adds up! You can make a donation to support my run by clicking right here http://uvahf.convio.net/site/TR/Womens4Miler/General?px=1026040&pg=personal&fr_id=1140

Thank you so much for your love and support!
