The Alyssa House

Today on Tell Me Something Good we featured a great local story about the Divers Family turning tragedy into goodness. Lynn, Jeff and Lexi Divers went through something that no family ever wants to go through; they lost their beautiful daughter and sister, Alyssa, to cancer. During their long ordeal to find a cure for their daughter, they spent many days and long hours in hospitals and hotels here in Charlottesville, but also in strange cities often dropping everything just to fly across the country when the call came in that they could be seen. The Divers family knows first hand what it’s like to be in a strange town, with no friends or family for support and spending many days, sometimes weeks in hotel rooms. Because of what they’ve been through and in honor of their daughter, Alyssa, The Alyssa House has been formed to house families seeking treatment at UVA Hospital. Their hope is that no one ever has to pay to stay at The Alyssa House, but they can only do that with your help. If you’d like to support their cause either monetarily or using your personal talents or gifts, please contact Lynn Divers at thealyssahouse@gmail.com or send your donation today to:
