Tax Scams in Our Area

I recently sat down with Crime Prevention Specialist, Andrew Gluba of the Albemarle County Police Dept to discuss some disturbing trends they’ve seen already this tax season, what they’re looking for and what you should be looking for as you get ready to file your taxes. Phone, email and identity theft scams are very real in our area.

For more information on scams and other general info about your taxes you can visit irs.gov. The local police departments are also encouraging you to call them if you get any of these threatening phone calls or emails.
