Saving For Next Christmas

Just had an idea for saving for Christmas in 2020. People tell me all the time that I need to start shopping in January. I don’t disagree with them, it’s just that I never know what anyone wants that early in the year and I like to wait until closer to Christmas to do the actual shopping. We’ve also tried saving cash throughout the year, but we have a bunch of kids and they ALWAYS need cash for something.

So, I think I’ve now thought of a better way to do it for us. Gift Cards! Starting in January we are going to buy gift cards at stores that we frequent and know we will be shopping at Christmas time. I feel they will be easier to save then cash and we can even earn extra fuel points at Kroger if we buy them when there is a promotion.

Whatcha think? Ever done anything like this before? How did it go? Do you have any other ideas for Christmas savings?

Merry Christmas!

Sherry
