Real Xmas Tree This Year?

We decided to get a real tree this year. We haven’t had a real tree in a long time and I’m glad we decided to take the plunge this year. With that said, we also haven’t taken care of a real Xmas tree in a while, so we had to reeducate ourselves so that we could get the best possible life out of the tree. We always put our decorations up early, so we were concerned that the tree would dry out.

I saw this article from Bottom Line Secrets that had some great tips that I’d never heard before to keep the tree fresh longer. The first thing they say you should do is use hot water on the very first fill up on the tree. Beyond that, you will need to do something specific to keep fungus away from the tree and later you’ll want to give your tree a little treat.
