Q: Researchers say that using one of these 4 times a week could help you live longer?

A: Sauna

STUDY: USING A SAUNA COULD HELP YOU LIVE LONGER: Ever used a sauna before? New data shows that sitting in the hot and steamy rooms may actually help you live longer. Researchers tracked the sauna usage of 2,300 Finnish men over a 20 year period. They found that even when controlling for other factors, cardiovascular-related deaths were almost twice as common among men who used saunas just once a week, compared to those who used them at least four times a week. For death from any cause, risk fell to 49% for the least-frequent users and to 31% for those who visited saunas the most. On average, the saunas were about 174 degrees Fahrenheit. The study’s lead researcher says the protective effect may come from the positive effect the heat and steam have on the cardiovascular system, but it could also be due to the relaxing effect the heat has as well.
