Q: Regarding work, women who do this are happier?

A: work part-time

Meanwhile, women are happier if her labors include a part-time job, says a recent study. Wives who worked part time faced their days with higher spirits than spouses who were either jobless or employed full time, say British researchers who spent eight years analyzing 3,800 couples both with and without children. The results suggest that a balance between employment and family helps women enjoy both more, say experts with the British Household Panel Survey. The panel in Great Britain also concluded that employers should attempt to create more jobs to fit the needs of women, especially mothers.
