A: talking trash

TRASH TALK CAN BOOST SELF-CONFIDENCE: New research from Florida State University shows that talking trash in the office, on the court or on your video game headset can boost self-confidence and ability. According to the study, trash talk is any verbal barb that builds up person motivation or enjoyment while intimidating or distracting your opponent. The study involved 40 college age men who were to play Madden for course credit. When allowed to trash talk, the players’ confidence increased by 46 percent. (menshealth.com)
