Q: New research finds doing this at work really is good for your health?

A: sitting next to a window

SITTING NEXT TO A WINDOW AT WORK IS GOOD FOR YOU: New research finds sitting next to a window at work really is good for your health. To find this, researchers from Oxford University analyzed previous studies about the connection between light and the release of serotonin– the happy hormone– into the body. Neuroscientists Russell Foster, with Oxford, says, “Many of us are ‘light deprived’ with levels of brightness in our homes and workplaces inadequate to regulate our body clock or keep us at maximum alertness.” Researchers say exposure to light releases serotonin and helps regulate the body clock. Foster recommends taking a 30-minute walk in morning light if you will not be exposed to light the rest of the day, as it will help set your body clock properly. (Daily Mail)
