Four Things You Should Do When You Test Drive a Car
FULL STORY: According to a new survey, 30% of us don’t test drive a car now until we already KNOW the make and model we want. So obviously we’re doing a lot of research online now.
But the test drive is still important. So here are four things you should do when you test drive a car that you might not think about . . .
- Bring someone with you. It’s good to have a second opinion. And they also might notice things you don’t, like how big or small the backseat is.
- Ask the salesman for a longer test drive. They won’t say no if they think you might buy a car. And obviously it gives you more time to figure out what you like and don’t like about it.
- Don’t just drive on smooth roads. Find some rougher roads too, so you can get a feel for how bumpy the suspension is. And curves are good, so you can see how it handles.
- Parallel park. Obviously you don’t want to bump into any other cars, so pick a big space. But this is good to do because it forces you to notice where all the blind spots are.
