A: test drive a car

Four Things You Should Do When You Test Drive a Car

FULL STORY:  According to a new survey, 30% of us don’t test drive a car now until we already KNOW the make and model we want.  So obviously we’re doing a lot of research online now.

But the test drive is still important.  So here are four things you should do when you test drive a car that you might not think about . . .

  1. Bring someone with you.  It’s good to have a second opinion.  And they also might notice things you don’t, like how big or small the backseat is.
  1. Ask the salesman for a longer test drive.  They won’t say no if they think you might buy a car.  And obviously it gives you more time to figure out what you like and don’t like about it.
  1. Don’t just drive on smooth roads.  Find some rougher roads too, so you can get a feel for how bumpy the suspension is.  And curves are good, so you can see how it handles.
  1. Parallel park.  Obviously you don’t want to bump into any other cars, so pick a big space.  But this is good to do because it forces you to notice where all the blind spots are.
