The much-awaited Sports Illustrated swimsuit issue comes out Tuesday, February 18, and millions of readers — mostly men — are unlikely to be disappointed this year’s edition. But how do women feel about skimpy swimwear and their bods? According to a survey of 100 women by a men’s magazine:

  • 95% have negative feelings about the shape of their bodies
  • 87% fit into last year’s swimwear
  • 74% check out other girls in their swimwear
  • 58% would spend more than $100 on a swimsuit
  • 53% think women should stop wearing bikinis after age 45
  • 50% say tan lines are unsightly
  • 45% have lost their bathing suit in the surf
  • 43% have used a tanning booth
  • 35% will only wear a one-piece swimsuit to the beach
  • 33% crash diet before going to the beach
  • 28% would wear a bikini and rotate on a platform with a new car for a modest sum of money
  • 20% go for the Brazilian Wax
