Q: A recent study found that the average person’s heart rate increases 33% when they do this?

A: Christmas shopping

Christmas Shopping Is as Stressful as Running a Marathon?

FULL STORY:  Have you ever felt totally wiped out from Christmas shopping?  Well, according to a new study, it’s more stressful than most people think.

A group of researchers in England recently had people shop for an hour while they monitored their pulse, body temperature, and how much they were sweating.

And the average person’s heart rate increased 33% while they were shopping . . . which is on par with what happens during a MARATHON.

They also found 88% of people experienced tachycardia when they found a gift they liked.  That’s where you have an abnormally rapid heart rate.

And 60% of people in the study started feeling fatigued after just 32 minutes of shopping.

They say the best way to prevent yourself from getting stressed out while shopping is to do it in short bursts, and take plenty of breaks.
