A poll of an undisclosed number of Americans reveals the following:
When asked “Do you think it is ever appropriate to make a catcall?” here’s what people said:
— 72% – Never appropriate
— 20% – Sometimes appropriate
— 8% – Not sure
When asked “Do you consider catcalls to be complimentary or harassment?” here’s what people said:
— 20% – Compliment
— 55% – Harassment
— 24% – Not sure
— 31% of those aged 18-29 said they consider catcalls to be complimentary, that’s the highest percentages of any age bracket.
— 64% of those aged 65+ said catcalls are harassment, the highest percentage of any age bracket.
