THE ELECTION AND SOCIAL MEDIA (Pew Research)
A poll of 2,003 registered U.S. voters reveals the following:
— 28% said they have used their cell phone to track political news or campaign coverage
— That’s up from 13% who said the same in 2010
— 16% of people say they follow candidates or other political figures on social media
— That up from just 6% who said the same in 2010
— 25% of Republicans and 29% of Democrats say they use their phones to keep up with election news
