A poll of an undisclosed number of U.S. adults reveals the following:
— 52% said they consider gambling to be morally acceptable
— 14% said they consider it morally wrong
— 34% said it depends/they’re not sure
When asked “Regardless of whether you think they are morally acceptable or morally wrong, should the  types of gambling listed below be legal are illegal, here’s what people said:
— State lotteries: 84% – legal, 9% – Illegal
— Casino gambling: 81% – legal, 10%- Illegal
— Racetrack horse betting: 78% – Legal, 12%- Illegal
— Office pools: 75% – Legal, 10%- Illegal
— Sports betting: 67% – Legal, 19% – Illegal
— Online gambling: 59% – Legal, 25%- Illegal
— Offtrack horse betting: 57% – Legal, 26% – Illegal
