Q: A new study says that when extroverts want to socialize with others, 75% of them wanted to go here?

A: The ocean

INTROVERTS LIKE MOUNTAINS, EXTROVERTS LIKE THE BEACH: Introverts and extroverts like to travel different places, reveals a new study. When 921 subjects were questioned, extroverts were found to prefer the ocean over mountains, and when tested, no other personality trait tended to predict that preference. Another experiment showed that when people wanted to socialize with others, they prefer to go to the ocean (75%) far more than mountains (25%). When they wanted to be alone, both environments were about equally preferred (48% versus 52%). Lead researcher Shige Oishi says it seems introverted people actually gravitate to mountainous regions, and that you can’t change your personality simply by moving to one environment or the other. It’s unclear why each group has its preference, but it may be due to the stereotype that people who like the mountains tend to be self-fulfilling. (FastCoexist)
