A: A vacation
AMERICANS WILLING TO JEOPARDIZE FINANCES FOR A VACATION: When was the last time you took a vacation? A new study reveals twelve percent of Americans are willing to forego paying their bills to be able to go on vacation, with four percent even willing to skip a mortgage or rent payment. Personal finance expert J.D. Roth says it’s important to spend money on what you’re passionate about while at the same time cutting back on things you don’t care about. However, he adds that he would never advocate not paying your bills, saying, “That sounds like misplaced priorities.” The survey polled 1,500 Americans about their ideal vacation and what they’re willing to sacrifice in order to travel. It revealed that across all age demographics, financial security, or lack of it, was cited as the number one obstacle to taking a vacation. Common vices people say they’d give up in order to take a vacation: alcohol, cigarettes or coffee. Others said they’d be willing to downgrade their personal technology if it meant they could get away. (Fox)
