Q: A new study finds that for men, drinking makes them do this more than women?

A: smile

ALCOHOL MAKES MEN MORE LIKELY TO SMILE: To crack a smile men should crack open a beer, finds a new study. University of Pittsburgh researchers looked at 720 social drinkers and split them into three groups. One group received an alcoholic beverage, one got a non-alcoholic beverage, and one got a “placebo” beverage that they were told was alcoholic. It was found that smiles among the group drinking alcohol spread more quickly, or were much more contagious. However when women were tested the same effect was not seen. But why? It’s thought that booze induces a form of “social bravery” among men that disrupts the processes that would normally prevent them from responding to another person’s smile. (Daily Mail)
