97 Percent Check Phones Occasionally During Conversation

Almost all Americans say they are guilty of occasionally checking their phones while in the presence of their friends and family.  According to a new poll conducted by “Lookout” and Sprint, 97 percent of respondents admitted to using their phones during conversation.  Sixty-three percent of people say they would be upset if they accidentally left their smartphone at home.  Almost two-thirds say they check their phone at least once every hour, and nine percent they check every five minutes.  When asked if they would fear having the contents of their phone projected onto a big screen, 33 percent say they would.  Fifteen percent say they caught someone in the act of snooping on their phone, and 44 percent say they set a PIN or pass code.
