Q: A group of Virginia researchers found that hotel guests prefer workers without this?

A: A beard

CUSTOMERS PREFER HOTEL WORKERS WITHOUT BEARDS: A group of Virginia researchers found that hotel guests prefer workers to be clean-shaven. The study named “The Frontline Provider’s Appearance: A Driver of Guest Perceptions” was published in the November 2013 issue of Cornell Hospitality Quarterly. Participants were asked to judge workers on their knowledge, courtesy, confidence and ability to trust. Clean-shaven Caucasian men tested better then bearded Caucasian men. The test also showed that facial hair did not appear to be a factor with men of other races. (UPI)
