Q: 90% of the time in relationships, this choice is left up to the woman?

A: Which side of the bed to sleep on.

Deciding who sleeps on the right side of the bed and who’s on the left side is the woman’s choice 90 percent of the time. Barely 1 in 10 fellas insist on having their way in the bed wars, according to a recent survey conducted for a bed manufacturer. There are many reasons why a gal picks her preferred side of the mattress, from wanting to avoid their sleeping partner breathing on them to having the guy sleep closest to the door to confront any intruder, say experts. But the man is usually okay with the arrangement because it makes him feel as if he’s keeping his mate safe. “Men are naturally designed to want to protect their female partner and that means they will allow her to call the shots over ‘disputed territory,’ like preference for a certain side of the bed,” explains psychologist Donna Dawson. “Women are far more likely to insist on things going their way, too. Men are generally happy to adapt.”
