Need Extra Money for Xmas?

We could all use a little extra money for Christmas gifts and let’s be honest, we don’t want to have to get a second job if we can help it. So what can you do? You can look around your house to find “junk” you’re not using or have outgrown that someone else might want.  Of course not everything is worth something, but there are items that are worth more than others. This is where you should look.

Clothing and Designer shoes/handbags: Do you have any designer clothing that you don’t wear anymore? Sell it! Baby clothes? Put them on consignment.

Jewelry: Have gold and silver that you’re never going to wear or maybe it’s broken? Sell it! Pawn Shops, jewelry stores and coin shops usually buy jewelry.

Computers/Cell Phones: Sell them at gazelle.com.

Gift Cards: Have an unused gift card from a store where you don’t shop and you’ll never use it? Sell it! You’ll have to sell it for a smaller amount than the face value, but it’s better than losing the money on the card OR you could also swap it for another card from another store where you shop.

Collectibles: If you have collectibles that you think could be worth some money. Do some research and find out what they are going for online. If it’s worth it to you, sell it!

In my personal “selling” experience be prepared to get less than what you’re asking for each item because people want a deal and it is used, but if it’s just collecting dust, go ahead and get rid of it and use the cash to help you this Christmas!
