I don’t know about you, but as my kids get older it gets harder and harder to do family activities. No one wants to do the same thing and they all want to make other plans. So, what do you do as a family? Today for Will It Work Wednesday we talked about easy inexpensive day trips or activities that you can do with your family that almost everyone will like.
Here are some of things that my family did while I was off earlier this week and some things that we would like to do with the rest of our week!
- Thanks to my brother we discovered this place in Manakin, VA near Short Pump called Bogeys that has Putt-Putt, baseball and softball batting cages and a golf ball driving range. It’s not terribly pricey and it’s something that we all agreed on.
- UVA Baseball Game ~ Tickets are $6 for adults and $5 for kids and it’s a great laid back event on a nice night in C’ville. We really enjoyed it. There is a game tonight (Wednesday) and 3 games this weekend!
- UVA Lacrosse Game ~ They have a home game this Sunday according to their schedule.
- Bounce Play N Create ~ This is a great active activity for kids 8 and under with tons of bouncy houses and other crafty activities. You could easily spend half a day here.
- Chuckie Cheese or Dave and Busters in Richmond ~ Since the kids are older they prefer Dave and Busters, but they still like Chuckie Cheese and Chuckie Cheese is a little less pricey. My advice is to eat at home or pack a picnic lunch and eat somewhere outside before going to either place and have fun challenging each other to skee ball or basketball games!
- If the kids like to be outside all the time and you all like to climb, I highly recommend Crab Tree Falls in Nelson. The hike is very family friendly and it’s beautiful out there.
- Don’t forget local parks that you haven’t explored yet! We have tons of great parks and trails. Click here for City of Charlottesville info and here for Albemarle County parks and rec!
What else do you have to add to this list of fun family things to do that everyone will enjoy??
