It might not seem like something that I’m into, but I like Hip/Hop and Rap music. Stories put to music, what’s not to like? As a family we get into it as well, but most mainstream Rap music doesn’t have the message that I want my kids to hear. So, I have to give most of the credit to my son, Cameron for seeking out artists that are positive and don’t degrade women or constantly talk about making money and doing bad things. Here is a list of some of our favorite family Hip/Hop and Rap artists and some links to their YouTube pages so that you can listen for yourself and decide if they are an artist that you might like.
Lecrae has to be our favorite. I took my son to see him in concert just this past Saturday and he was amazing! Also was able to check out the new Multipurpose Center at VSU in Petersburg. That was the very first concert at that venue and it’s a really nice place and very much like a mini John Paul Jones Arena.
