Weekends
Who knew Ms. Fitzpatrick’s footnotes of “Wendy talks too much in class,” and “Wendy should refrain from entertaining,” on my grade school report cards would foretell a speaking career?
The first time I went on the radio was in the late 70’s on WBET in Brockton, MA. I was 8 years old. I called in to sell my ice skates because I really REALLY wanted to be on the radio. I didn’t want to lose my skates, but I couldn’t think of anything else to sell on the “community yard sale” bit.
I get a little excited about so many things and have a tendency to spend anywhere between several minutes to several hours expressing my admiration for them; everything from altruism to back rubs – from biology to parenting! I love nature, I love LOVE, and high thread counts, theme parties…gah! It’s safe to say I love just about EVERYTHING (as can be seen on my Pinterest page!) When I go on a tangent about one of the best things ever, my BFF calls it “Wendy’s Cake of the Day.”
Finally, I may not be your “everyday Christian” but I am Christian every day. I see myself and others as Christ did: passionate people who get confused easily and can’t possibly save themselves to spare their lives. If I do my part then God’s creation might be a little more acknowledged, respected and admired.
