UVA WGolf: Hoos in Top 5 After One Round at Birdwood in NCAA Tournament

Charlottesville, VA (cvillerightnow.com): One round down at Birdwood during the Charlottesville Regional of the NCAA Women’s Golf Tournament and the Hoos are in fifth place.  

The Virginia Women’s Golf Team, who went into the tournament as the 11-seed, currently occupies the final spot from this regional that will advance to Carlsbad for the final rounds beginning May 16th.  

Leading the way individually for Virginia is senior Megan Propeck, shooting 1-under 70.

 As a team, Virginia sits at 2-over-286, with the standings paced by South Carolina (7-under-227).  UCLA, Ole Miss, and Florida occupy spots 2, 3, and 4, just in front of Virginia.  

Round Two began earlier this morning, and the final round to decide who goes to California will be played tomorrow.  More updates to follow here on Cvillerightnow.com.
