CHARLOTTESVILLE (CVILLE RIGHT NOW/THE CAVALIER DAILY) – After the editorial board condemned the University of Virginia’s Board of Visitors decision to dissolve the University’s DEI Office, students are expressing discontent in The Cavalier Daily with the action, as well. Fourth-year Salimah Hagmagid said she’s not surprised being the BOV “has become increasingly more politicized.

Alpha Kappa Delta Phi sorority president and third-year student Phoebe Yoon also participates with Taste of Home, a mission supporting immigrant chefs around Charlottesville. She’s concerned that grants and funds specified for DEI initiatives are gone and “unable to give out money”.
