Local registrars open next two Saturdays for early voting

CHARLOTTESVILLE, VA (CVILLE RIGHT NOW) – Early voting has been going on for more than a month, but the next two Saturdays allow those to vote early who couldn’t make it to the registrar’s office during the week.

Local registrars have voting hours Saturday, October 25, and Saturday, November 1 heading into the November 4 Election Day.

And the deadline to register to vote in this election is upon us, Friday, October 24.

Early voting began in Virginia back on September 19, but has only been weekday hours.

Voters will need to check with their local registrar’s office for the hours these next two Saturdays, but Albemarle’s 5th Street Office Building location and Charlottesville’s City Hall Annex will be open 8:30 a.m.-to-5 p.m.

The registrars note voting early in the Voter Registration Office will be similar to how you would in the precinct on Election Day.

A voter needs bring acceptable ID or be prepared to complete an ID Confirmation Statement in order to vote.

Curbside voting (from your car) is always available to anyone with a disability, limited mobility or over the age of 65.

The Virginia Department of Elections can guide a voter if they don’t know where to go.
