CHARLOTTESVILLE, VA (CVILLE RIGHT NOW) – A Charlottesville-based virtual bodybuilding coach has been sentenced in Charlottesville federal court to more than 21 years in prison for sexually exploiting at least six minors over the course of six years. Court documents show between December 2013 and April 2020, 35-year old Eric Atwell portrayed himself as a virtual bodybulding coach for high schoolers, and his mentoring quickly turned to sexual exploitation. He would send gifts and cameras to receive inappropriate images and videos. He pleaded guilty back in June to one count each of sexual exploitation of a minor and child porn possession.
