Arlington woman drowns late Saturday night in Lake Anna

CHARLOTTESVILLE, VA (CVILLE RIGHT NOW) – The Louisa County Sheriff confirms a 19-year old woman from Arlington drowned over the weekend in Lake Anna.
Witnesses reported Sally Bedell jumped into the water from a structure Saturday night and, after initially resurfacing, went missing, according to release.

Deputies were called at approximately 10:45 p.m to the location near Bumpass.

The Spotsylvania County Dive Team was brought in to help in the search and located Bedell a short time later, unresponsive in the water. Despite life-saving measures, she was pronounced dead at the scene, according to the release.
