CHARLOTTESVILLE, VA (CVILLE RIGHT NOW) – Albemarle Police are investigating a pair of overnight shootings in the area of Four Seasons Drive that left one victim in critical condition.

Investigators don’t believe the two incidents are related, ACPD spokesperson Logan Bogert told Cville Right Now.

ACPD, along with Albemarle Fire Rescue, had responded to a vehicle crash around 9:40 p.m. in the 2300 block of Peyton Drive.

Upon arrival, officers found the driver was suffering from a gunshot wound and further investigation revealed the victim was shot in the area of Four Seasons Drive before the crash. The victim was transported to UVA Health in critical condition.

As officers were investigating the crash and shooting, around 3:30 a.m., they heard gunshots nearby.

“Subsequent 911 calls led officers to the area of Inglewood Drive and North Berkshire Road. Multiple shell casings were recovered from the scene, but no injuries or property damage was reported,” according to the ACPD arrest.

The investigation is ongoing and Albemarle Police urge anyone who may have information on either incident to call Crime Stoppers at 434-977-4000. Callers may remain anonymous.

Residents with exterior security cameras can register them for free on ACPD NeighborLink by visiting albemarle.org/police.
