Crozet, VA (CVILLE RIGHT NOW): Albemarle County Fire and Rescue were dispatched early Saturday morning to deal with a reported structure fire on Orchard Drive in Crozet. When they arrived, there was smoke emanating from what looked to be the laundry room of a single-family home, which was put out without incident.
The three residents were safely evacuated with no injuries and were assisted by American Red Cross personnel.
The cause of the fire remains under investigation, but the Albemarle County Fire Marshall’s office believes it to be the clothes dryer. A release following the fire reminds county residents to clean the lint filter before each use of your dryer.
