STATE COLLEGE, PA (CVILLE RIGHT NOW) – AccuWeather is predicting a notable uptick in tropical storm activity in the Atlantic next month, with the possibility of one to three named storms forming. This forecast comes amid unusually warm ocean temperatures, which may even make a rare extension of hurricane threats into December. AccuWeather’s lead hurricane expert, Alex DaSilva, highlighted the East Coast and Florida may be particularly vulnerable, while the Gulf Coast from Texas to Alabama faces a low risk of direct impacts.

Meteorologists are monitoring the southern Caribbean for signs of development this week, emphasizing that families and officials in those areas should remain vigilant. As this season draws to a close, experts warn that the ongoing trend of warmer ocean temperatures could reshape future hurricane seasons, potentially leading to longer durations and more intense storms.
