CHARLOTTE, NC (CVILLE RIGHT NOW) – The ACC announces it’s changing its end-of-season baseball tournament format into a single-elimination bracket instead of the old pod system… in which, frankly, UVA has not been recently successful. The Hoos are picked to finish at the top of the league this coming season, and are ranked preseason either 2, 3, or 5 according to whichever publication which is nothing Head Coach Brian O’Connor shies away from. In fact, he says he’d rather be ranked Number-One.

All 16 teams will be in the tournament starting May 20 in Durham with the duration over six-days as it has been in the past. The Hoos have won this tournament three times, the last time in 2011. They also won in 1996 and 2009. Click here for all the tournament information from the ACC.
