CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. (Saga Communications)  – Sherry Taylor, host of the Z95.1 Morning Show, has won the Gracie Award for Radio Host in a Small Market.  The Gracies are presented by the Alliance for Women in Media Foundation (AWMF), and were created to recognize individuals and content who reflect the roles, stories and priorities of women.  This year marks the 48th anniversary of The Gracies, which will be held June 20th at Cipriani 42nd Street in New York.  Ms. Taylor is being recognized by the AWMF for her exemplary work behind the microphone on Z95.1.

“Sherry Taylor’s genuine connection to our community is inspiring to our entire organization,” says Garrett Klingel, General Manager of the Charlottesville Radio Group. “Her presence reminds us on daily basis why we love what we do.  We are beyond lucky to have had such an amazing talent on Z95.1 for all these years!”

The Gracies are named after the late Gracie Allen. Gracie Allen was an important figure for women in media as she challenged the gender norms of her time by being a successful comedian and businesswoman. Her humor and wit paved the way for other women in the entertainment industry and she remains an inspiration to this day.

The Z95.1 Morning Show with Sherry Taylor can be heard on 95.1 FM, WQMZ, Charlottesville weekday mornings from 6:00AM to 10:00AM.
