CHARLOTTESVILLE (WINA) – Dave Matthews will be playing acoustically Sunday at Ting Pavilion at a GOTV rally for Democrat Terry McAuliffe’s campaign for Governor. The next few days are filled with heavy hitters for the Democrat who has seen his lead in at least one public poll… and seemingly internal polls when you see campaign actions… evaporate into a tie with Republican Glenn Youngkin. The event starts 11 Sunday morning with Matthews, DNC Chair Jaime Harrison, and Georgia’s former candidate for Governor Stacey Abrams, whose “get out the vote” actions are credited at least in part for flipping both Georgia U.S. Senate seats from Republican to Democrat in elections earlier this year.
Thursday, Vice President Kamala Harris is appearing with McAuliffe in Prince William County in what the campaign calls a “grassroots” event outside of Dumfries. Then Saturday, former President Barack Obama appears with McAuliffe at VCU at noon on The Compass… which is the patio in front of the university’s main library.
First Lady Jill Biden appeared with McAuliffe last Friday night. However, President Biden himself has not appeared with McAuliffe since July. While the White House is not commenting on any future Presidential travel schedule, the McAuliffe campaign maintains an event with the President will happen.
