Documentary photographer and photojournalist Ézé Amos will serve as the final UVA Engagements Lecturer for the 2022-23 academic year. His many photo projects have included Cville People Everyday, Cville Porch Portraits, and Inside Out: This Is What Community Looks Like. Driven to tell the true stories of Charlottesville and neighboring communities, Amos is also an affiliate photographer with The New York Times and Getty Images. His work has also been published by a wide range of other international news agencies. As his Instagram page attests, Amos is always on the move, documenting resistance efforts on the ground and bringing out the beauty in people around him. In this talk designed exclusively for UVA first-year College students, Amos will discuss his recent exhibit, Bearing Witness, a series of photographs he took during the Unite the Right Rally in Charlottesville in August 2017.
