Rivanna Solid Waste Authority (RSWA) operates a limited household hazardous waste collection site at the Ivy Solid Waste & Recycling Center (SWRC) location. This fall, upcoming 2025 Household Hazardous Waste (HHW) and Bulky Waste Days for the residents of Albemarle County, City of Charlottesville, and Town of Scottsville can bring specific hazardous waste items to the RSWA Ivy Solid Waste & Recycling Center, from 9 am – 3 pm on Friday, September 19, and Saturday, September 20.

Electronic Waste Collection Day (for residents of Albemarle County and the City of Charlottesville only) at Ivy SWRC is Saturday, September 13, from 9 am – 3 pm and requires pre-registration but has reached capacity.  Sign up to join their online waitlist here.

2025 Bulky Waste Amnesty Days will be held on the following Saturdays from 8:30 am – 4 pm: September 27, October 4, and October 11.

Learn more about which specific items are accepted for each date. Amnesty Days are available only to residents of Albemarle County, the City of Charlottesville, and the Town of Scottsville
