​The timeless works of Richard Rodgers and Oscar Hammerstein II, have been a staple of the Charlottesville Opera stage. From the sweeping romance of South Pacific to the heartfelt optimism of Oklahoma!, their unforgettable music and lyrics have echoed through our productions for 48 years, touching generations of audiences.

This special concert invites you to journey with us through the golden age of musical theatre. Beloved songs like Some Enchanted Evening, If I Loved You, and Oh, What a Beautiful Morning on Top will be woven together with memories of our company’s own history performing these masterpieces.

Part musical celebration, part nostalgic reflection, this evening honors not only Rodgers and Hammerstein’s enduring legacy but also the community of artists and audiences who have cherished these works alongside us. Join us as we sing the stories that shaped our stage and celebrate the music that continues to inspire
