For over a decade, Party Like a Rock Star has been an opportunity to come together as a community to celebrate music, creativity, and the mission of the Music Resource Center. Thanks to supporters like you, it has become one of our favorite traditions

In 2026, we’re excited to bring that spirit forward in a fresh new way with MRC Unplugged, a relaxed, family-friendly Sunday evening fundraiser on February 22 from 4–8 p.m. The evening will include inspiring student performances and a set by local band Silverstone, along with great food and a welcoming atmosphere for all ages.

MRC is a place where young people learn, create, and discover their artistic voice. Our after-school and summer programs provide affordable access to lessons, mentorship, instruments, and recording studios for teens across the Charlottesville area.

Community support keeps membership accessible to everyone. Students can join for as little as one dollar a year, ensuring that cost is never a barrier to creativity or belonging. Your participation in MRC Unplugged helps hundreds of teens each year find a safe, supportive space to learn, explore, and express themselves.

Join us for an evening that celebrates talent, community, and the next generation of musicians.
