Join 2nd Street Gallery on December 13, 10am – 2pm, for the last Family Studio Day of the year!
The Main Gallery walls will be adorned with scenes from exhibiting artist Stacey Evans’ travels on Amtrak’s Northeast Regional line and the route between Charlottesville, Virginia, and New York City. The photographs in “Passenger: Riding the Rails” capture the American landscape in snapshots that appear both common and unusual.
We encourage you to create your own train-inspired collage based on Evans’ photos and ongoing collage practice. Choose your own track to make art about the train itself or the views you might see as you go on a creative journey. The artist will be in the gallery to offer an extra boost of inspiration.
All supplies for this project will be provided. We hope you’ll bring your fellow travel companions and future adventurers to join in on the fun!
