Fall Fest is our primary adoption event, and this year we’re going all in: adoptions are free, all weekend, both at Fall Fest and at the shelter — thanks to our friends at Piedmont Tire Co. So grab the kids, grab your partner, grab the dog (really!), and come spend an early fall day with us. There might just be a new family member waiting for you. 

Something Fun for Everyone.

We built this day for the whole crew, not just the little ones.

For the kids: trick-or-treating at our vendor tables, SuperFun inflatables, face painting, balloon animals, bottle toss, gourd painting, and a decorate-your-own trick-or-treat bag station.
For the grown-ups: we’ve got you covered too — swing by Have Heart Tattoo’s pop-up for a $100 flash tattoo, or try your luck at bottle toss for a bottle of Eastwood wine.
For your pup: strike a pose for a silhouette portrait with Studio Zero Photography, let them stretch their legs on the slat mill with Better Dog Co, or treat them to a nail trim from PUPS.
And don’t miss our crowd favorites: the dog costume contest (sponsored by Virginia Veterinary Specialists & Emergency!) and the pumpkin pie eating contest for dogs.
