Robert Vaughn, who played a slick spy on TV’s The Man From U.N.C.L.E., died Friday. He was 83.
In addition to portraying Napoleon Solo on U.N.C.L.E., Vaughn’s TV career included stints on The A-Team, Murder She Wrote, Law & Order, Law & Order: SVU and the British soap opera Coronation Street. He was also in Superman III as Ross Webster.
Locally we know him as the “We mean business!” guy in the Marks and Harrison TV commercials.
In 1978, he won an Emmy for his work on the miniseries Washington: Behind Closed Doors.
